How to make a movie from stuff you’ve uploaded

Posted in Create by support on the December 13th, 2006

To start making a movie, you can always click on Create in the top navigation, choose Create Movie to open up the Editor and then drag your clips and photos into the timeline from the +Add tab.

If you’ve uploaded a bunch of stuff, and you want to make it into a movie quickly, here are a few simple steps:

1. Create A Set
- Go to Your Page, click on Sets on the right side
- Click on [Create A New Set]

2. Add Your Media To The Set
- Go to Your Page, click on Clips or Photos on the right side
- Select items using checkboxes
- Use Add To Set in the Actions area on the right

3. Make A Movie From The Set
- Go to Your Page, click on Sets on the right side
- Click on the desired Set to open it
- Click [New Movie From Set]

4. Edit Your Movie In The Editor

5. Publish Your Movie
- When you’re finished, click “I’m Finished”
- Enter the information on the Publish Page and click Publish

Yes i recently made a set with videos and pictures, and they show up on my page for everyone to see. I wanted to know how to make the sets totally private from public viewing. I made the pictures and videos private so they didnt show up but the set itself and the name i gave the sets did show up. Thank you

Nicolae . . . sorry about that. It's a bug in our system right now. We're fixing it in our next release.

How do you actually edit the clips ie how do you delete sections and add to timeline

    Hi,

I just imported a Flickr set, so far everything fine, but the order is reversed? How can i reverse it again, so the first picture comes first and not last?

    Thanks!

Nick or Dustin- did either of you get an answer? I am having the same problems.

I uploaded a windows media movie file and want to make shortened clips of different sections of the movie. I thought I was creating clips but when I saved it, the saved files don’t show anywhere. I cannot get a timeline or anything to show, I just used the big clippers so I really don’t even know if thats the right way to do it.

    Can anyone help?

    Thanks!
    Val

    Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing the same problems. It seems that titles are working fine but no video showing in saved clips.

As for the save button I think it creates a new clip in “Works in Progress”. I can edit it there again but still video won’t work.

    cheers

There needs a better sorting feature! There should be the same options as on Flickr… be able to sort by picture taken on, newest to oldest or the reverse.

I edited and published my movie fine but then decided to alter it. So I returned into the editor deleted the clip now I can’t find the publish button anywhere. Is it not possible to edit and publish?

I thought I couldn’t reedit and publish because of the settings. I changed it to remixable and yet no signs of “publish”.

I even made a copy of my movie thinking that Jumpcut was saving me the pain of losing good footage.. but no.. I still can’t find the publish button.

I had the same problem. I published a movie, then saw that one of my titles had gotten in the wrong spot and another had disappeared (earlier when I was creating the movie I had the same trouble with audio files.) I try to edit the movie and I move the title that’s in the wrong spot and add the missing credits, hit save, but it doesn’t change the movie that is on the homepage. This is extremely frustrating since I made the movie for a project in a Master’s class.

hi, i uploaded a set of pics and i think this is the site that i have been looking for but i am wondering how do you set a slide show to the beat of the music? i realize that you can set each one to 1 sec, 2 secs, etc, but so many transitions need to be less than one sec + that would take forever. is there a macro where you can play the song and then advance the slides to the beat of the music using the down arrow or mouse click and then it will save the time sequence? that would be the bomb. thanks!
