I've had exactly the same problem and it almost drove me nuts. But the issue is resolved. Visit http://deepanjannag.blogspot.com/2006/10/its-been-10-years.html for the video. Initially I had just 1 photo with the background audio. Everything looked fine inside the editor after I had published. But later, it simply refused to play.
