My files take forever to upload

Posted in Upload by support on the September 23rd, 2006

Video files can be pretty large and may take some time to upload, especially over a slow connection. However, make sure you’re not trying to upload something larger than 100MB. If you are, the upload process will appear to keep going, but the upload will not complete. Check your file sizes before you upload. We’re working on a fix for this.

What is the recommended compression type(Quicktime–mpeg2 or 4–divx–etc.) and final video size (640×480–320×280–etc.)?

My uploads always stops @ 58%, no matter what video I try to upload, no matter how often I try.

    What shall I do?

    Hey guys and gals,

Just use YouTube, they have their S**** together and they actually fix stuff that breaks in a timely fashion. Jumpcut has been screwing with the upload stall for a month now and can not or will not fix it.

I tried uploading a 12MB .m4v file that uploaded perfectly to blip.tv months ago. The progress bar appeared, it finished the percentage display, then I saw recycled phrases; “how are you?” “I am fine” “nice video”. “yes, it will be nice”. “how are you?” “I am fine” “nice video”. “yes, it will be nice”….

But there was no further indication of progress percentage, success or failure. I waited more than an hour for the upload post-processing — how many hours should I have waited?

I’m having the same problem as others, wondering why it always suddenly stops uploading. I get an error, then it just stops. The error says something to the effect of “Error Generating Image” or some similar, and the upload stops.

As for going to YouTube as Rufus “suggested”, they don’t have video editing capabilities, which is what I’m looking for.

I know that this probably isn’t the right place to put this, but I can’t find a solution.

I am having problems with clips disappearing after I upload them. When I am uploading a bunch of clips, after they are done uploading a few of them disappear.

    Help please!
