How to prevent audio from fading out at the end of your movie
The audio automatically fades out at the end of Jumpcut movies that are more than 30 seconds long. This was done intentionally to avoid the jarring audio cut-out very often heard at the end of videos posted online. We realize that some users don’t want the audio to fade out, so here’s a way to eliminate it:
1. Open your movie in the editor
2. Click the +Add tab
3. Find the “Useful stuff from Jumpcut” folder in Your Media
4. Drag a black slug into the timeline at the end of your movie
5. Set the duration of the slug to 5 seconds on the Clip tab
6. Save your movie

can we only add one mp3 to a movie? i’m trying to add more (since my movie is longer than the mp3) but its not playing. how do i fix this?
on November 16th, 2006 at 6:28 pm
Andrea, you can certainly add more than one mp3 to your movies and arrange them/trim them to suit your needs.

Also, if your audio file isn’t playing, save your movie, exit, clear your browser cache and then reopen your movie in the editor. Sometimes Flash hiccups on multiple audio tracks. We’re working on a fix.

If it’s a contest where 30-second length is ostensibly critical, how will a 5-second black slug at the end be counted?

how do I do a final cut conversion to Quick time maintaining the aspect ratio of the canon hv10 and staying under 100mb. Also I have tried a number of ways and the video still gets squished and some of the tracks of sound dissapear.
Do you have a phone #.

Craig, I found that you will have to export the QT as letterboxed 4:3 if you shot in Anamorphic 16×9. Export as DVNTSC in Final Cut (use QuickTime Conversion if you need to change your export settings from 30fps to 24fps). Exporting at DV will keep it under 100 MB. They’re going to compress the hell out of it putting it up on the web anyway. Your high quality copy will come in handy if you win.

How do I fade out the sound in a clip?
on February 3rd, 2007 at 12:07 am
I want my soundtrack to fade out but sometimes it doesn't even if the movie is more than thirty seconds long. What gives?

how do you get the audio of the movie to turn off?
on June 12th, 2007 at 5:28 am
I am trying to play a file with three audio clips but only the first one will play. When I play the file in the sound editor all 3 play as layed out but when I open a preview or play the saved file only the first mp3 will play. I have tried to clear my browser’s cache and cookies (I have even tried opening in a different browser).
Thanks

I have the same problem as Greg on june 12th and I have already asked you the same question and no one has given instructions on how to fix it. In fact my question was taken off this blog help line area. Here’s the repeated problem in Gregs words and I agree that I am having the same problem. Can someone please help us.

Which LAZY JUMPCUT/YAHOO MORON thought doing the above TRANSPARENTLY and WASTING USERS’ TIME TRYING TO TROUBLESHOOT HIS IDIOCY was a great idea?
If you insist on this default, 5-second fade, PUT IT IN AUTOMATICALLY ON FILE UPLOAD AS A DEFAULT AUDIO EFFECT AND MAKE IT APPEAR ON THE TIMELINE!!!

I uploaded a flash video and after upload the audio on the file is badly out of sync with the video. Is there a way to correct this after upload or prevent it before or during upload?

How do you keep the audio from jumping in and out and having the video download first before playing so the audio will be smooth?
on March 2nd, 2008 at 11:55 pm
I know this is sort of necro-posting here, but I’m having the same problem as these people. I have two audio files on a video, and only the first one plays. I’ve tried clearing the caché and all of those things, and I’ve also tried it with multiple combinations of different videos and audio files. Nothing seems to be letting me use more than one audio file per video. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

I have the same problem as Greg and the others. I have 2 music files, and in the editor both play fine. In preview, only the first plays.
Please respond.

Please someone show us how to fix this. I’ve tried at least 10 programs to make a slideshow and this is the first to work. Please try to fix this or tell us how to fix this. I’ve spent way longer than it should have taken to make this dang thing!

Rick: although i havent got to that point yet in my editing have you tried combining your mp3s together before uploading? do a google search for that kinda a program and let me know if ti works
my question:
ashot posted “if the audio cuts out on one of your clips in the editor (this is a flash bug, happens if you have a lot of tiles), duplicate it and delete the old one (using the keyboard commands you can just hit d, delete with the clip selected)”
when you press duplicate is this in editor? i dont get this command or what it does. probably because i am combining pics to make a movie, so i dont see any clips.
thanks for any help

Help! I can’t get an mp3 file to play with my movie! I got the first mp3 I uploaded to work for a movie I made a few weeks ago, but have not gotten any others to play. I can still add that first song to a new movie and get it to play. I have tried clearing my browser cache and cookies, trying a different browser (IE instead of FF) and even a totally different computer, but the same result. Very frustrating!
